The new place

I can't ever seem to upload pictures in the correct order. Oh well! Here is our new place! Almost all moved in. In record timing I must add!

Kitchen. Very brown!
Few different views of the living room.

Dining area.
Back to the kitchen. Our oven is TINY! Or should I say tiny.  I don' t know if the Cheerios  box gives it any perspective but we had to store half of our cook wear because it didn't fit. We are already scoping out friends houses to do Thanksgiving at cause there is no turkey that is fitting in there! Haha.
Our 1 of 2 re-fridge's. We had to borrow one from the Army. This is the German fridge and it is also tiny and has no freezer! Imagine that. Apparently they go shopping everyday for fresh meat. Kind of a neat idea but isn't happening at the Lowe's! So we made it our drink fridge.
Our fun balcony.
Miles room. Was holding Miles and trying to take the pics! These are all the pics without a baby hand in the way. :)

Guest bedroom.  One day we will upgrade from air mattresses!
One of the bathrooms. Loving the 2 sinks!
We have a shower and a tub. Right next to each other. Interesting.
Please excuse the unmade bed. It's been a long week. Here's our room.
The German homes have no closets! Thank goodness there is a German IKEA down the road.

Trip to the zoo

We forgot our camera last time. So we made sure to remember it this time around! There's not much difference between the zoo here an back home. I guess the obvious is everything is in German! It was hard to tell what we were looking at sometimes.

We are loving all the gardens here. They make for fun picnics!

Poor Brad. He accidently bought an extra ticket for the zoo. I can't give him too much of a hard time because I probably wouldn't have done any better. Just remember- they count the thumb!
Miles is so funny. Whenever anyone holds up a camera he puts on his cheese face. He even has a fake toy camera that he will pose for.

Fascinated.

On a side note- We move into our apartment tomorrow! The bad news is we won't have phone or internet for 2 weeks-a month. So this will explain the lack of blogs and e-mails.
We hope everyone has a great Labor Day!

No to apricots

I finally found a food that Miles won't eat! Its so strange because he has been tolerating apricots all this time. Today he decided he was done.

Randomness

Just not a lot has happened the past couple weeks. Brad and I are getting ready to move into our new apartment in about 2 weeks! Yay! We plan to put some pics up soon. We've been watching lots of Olympics. Go Michael Phelps! Wow! He is superman. I'm sure everyone is tired of hearing about the guy by now though. Looking forward to seeing if he gets his 8th medal tomorrow.

I did add a new slideshow to the left. <---- Did you see? It's just a little bit of special memories from here and there.

I can't believe Miles is turning 1 soon! Wow has time flown! I don't think we are going to do too much for it. Just have a small party for 3. If circumstances were different we would be having a fun filled party with family back home. Everyone keeps saying the first couple of birthdays are really for the parents anyway.
Speaking of Miles he is STILL not crawling. He just has no interest in it. We try practicing with him and everything and he just prefers his flat belly. Guess I can't complain though!

Guess that's it for now.

Brad's promotion

Today Brad was promoted to Staff Sergeant! (E-6) Go Brad! I am so proud of you! He had the honor of being pinned on by a 2 star General (and then I pinned the other side!)

Saluting the General

General pinning one side and Miles and I trying to pin the other. Miles kept grabbing the General's ring and his collar. He just couldn't help himself with all the shiny things.

This is our friend SSgt Hekel. He was also promoted today too.

Getting settled... temporarily

We got our new backpack in! If you read the previous post you can remember that we dragged a stroller and baby up what felt like a thousand too many stairs. I am probably a little too excited about this but what can I say? It's like a new element of freedom. A freedom to explore Europe!

I am also overly excited about the fact we got our "express" shipment in from the States. You never know how much you love a daily household item until you go 7 weeks without it!
Our beloved microwave! We have been cooking everything in the stove. It is such a relief not to have to wait 55 minutes for a frozen dinner. Back to 5 minute meals! Yay! However, I am sad to say our beloved microwave will only be with us for 6 weeks. We move into a German home in September and we have learned that microwaves and transformers do not mix!

I can not tell you how much I missed Miles highchair! I could have kissed this thing all over. It's so nice to be able to put Miles in his highchair, give him his cheerios, and fold some laundry! I've been having to feed him on the floor and well... I'm sure all you mommies know what happens with that.

Hallelujah! We have our TV again! Even better...We have American channels! People speak English on our TV! Back when we were at the hotel it was all German channels (which was better than nothing), but ever since we've been at this temporary housing we haven't had a TV. I never realized how nice it is to have voices in the background. It has been quite the lonely 2 weeks.
