He moves! He moves!

So I finally have proof that Brad dances with me every night. He would never admit it! Every night we crank it up the last 30 minutes before Miles' bedtime and let-loose. So about a week ago I secretly set up the camera and got Brad on video. He dances! See? However my cover was blown when Miles started pointing at the camera!
I'm not sure when my next blog post will be after this. I leave in 48 hours for home. I am SO excited! I think my internet will be a limited there especially in Michigan so if I don't see you there then I'll look forward to reading your blogs when I get back! :)
Oh and thank you a million for the prayers about yesterday's D&C. It went very smoothly. I was in and out within 7 hours. I didn't know this but apparently they put you completely under for it. Why? I'm not sure but that was the BEST nap I've ever had in my life! If only I could have some of that to help me sleep at night! :) Yah, right!

See you on the other side of the world!

Sad news

What a week...

I'm so sad to announce that I lost the pregnancy. I'm not really sure what happened but it wasn't in God's timing right now.

It's times like this that make me so grateful for all the blessings God has given our family. Instead of grieving for this loss I want to rejoice in the life God did give to us and that is our little Miles. I LOVE being his Mommy and if God decides to stop with him I would be A-ok. He means so much to Brad and I!
Now I just need him to wake up so I can go give him the biggest bear Mommy hug.

In other news, I finally FINALLY am getting my breasts looked at tomorrow. I know some of you know for the longest time I've had multiple huge lumps inside both of them . I've put it off for years and Brad has me nailed down to tomorrow. I can't say I'm looking forward to it but at least I can sigh some relief when it's over.

Also, I think my OB is planning to do a D & C on Wednesday. I've never had one before or known anyone who's had one but it would be great if you could keep me in your prayers. I leave for the States on Saturday and am just really hoping there's not too much prolonged cramping or bleeding.

Guess that's it for now.

Sindelfingen pools

A friend recommended this place to us. It was AWESOME! They have like 10 different pools, indoor and outdoor, tons of slides and pool things. We will be going back!

2 weeks!

Only 2 weeks until I go home! I'm so excited that when I wake up to go pee at night I can't go back to sleep! Here are the top 9 things we're looking forward to:

9. Sweet Tea - not for me! Brad has been drooling over Mcalister's sweet tea since April.

8. 4th of July. There's nothing like spending the most patriotic holiday in your own country! Bring on the firecrackers!

7. For Miles to meet his Grandpa and Grandma Lowe. They still haven't met him yet and I'm really excited for them to meet this summer. Brad's dad has Alzheimer's and it will be a special moment to remember for us.

6. The heat. Call me crazy but it's a week away from summer and we can't seem to make it to the 80's or even the 70's sometimes. I want to be HOT and then wonder why in the world I wished I was hot and long for Germany weather again.

5. Eating at Olive Garden! I'm going to order chicken con broccoli and eat their huge famous salad and breadsticks!

4. Going to the mall and Target! American sizes and everything is in dollars! Way cheaper than the Euro. Oh and let's not forget the food court with the English menus!

3. Miles meeting and hanging with his cousins. He's finally at that age where he can really interact and play.

2. My brother and sister in law's pool. Shall I say anything else?

1. Michigan! This one is so huge it should be #1 twice! My oldest best friend is coming to see me. I can't wait to walk to the wishing well every day, go swimming in Lake Michigan and Bass Lake, go sailing, feed the swans, bird watch, read some books, hang out with my family (all 38 people that is presumed to be there this year), walks on the beach, bonfires, volleyball. Oh the list goes on forever!

What I am NOT looking forward to:
1. THE FLIGHT!!

German pregnancy questions

I've had a few friends from home ask me how having a baby here will differ from the States. I got a little pamphlet explaining many of the differences and thought I'd share!

1. Ultrasounds- You receive one every visit whether you are 5 weeks or 40 weeks - yay!  As well as a 'down there' exam. (less enthusiastic yay)

2. Less modesty- While you have to undress for your 'down there' exam they don't give you anything to cover up with and are to be prepared to just lay/sit there naked most of your appointment. I've already been advised by my insurance rep to wear a skirt or bring a towel. (That's ok Brad! You can wait in the waiting room!)

3. A mutterpass- translation is Mother pass or information about mother. You're required to have this on you at all times incase of an accident. The Germans get very upset with you if you forget it at your appointment. It has every piece of information you can imagine! 52 lines to be exact.

4. Hospitals - German women stay at the hospital 5-7 days after vaginal delivery as well as C-sections. Wow, perhaps it's a mini-vacation for them?
-You also have a roommate your whole stay. You share the recovery room with other moms who just delivered. While your husband can be in the delivery room he has to go home at the end of the night. I'm already jealous that he gets our big bed to himself and gets to sleep through the night the first few nights!

5. Circumcision - They don't do it to their boys here unless it's for religious purposes. The pamphlet says we'll need to seek out the hospital's plastic surgeon. (Yikes!)

The above is what was given to me by the American doctors. I've heard a few more stories as well from friends who've already delivered here and plan to see if there is any truth to these rumors. My first OB appointment is on Monday and is out in the Germany economy. I'm kind of excited to see the differences. Hopefully they speak a little English or it will be very interesting. My appointment is at 7pm. Isn't that odd? They have strange hours here.

Happy Birthday, Brad!

Tomorrow is Brad's 29th birthday! Yay! Although, he is not the happiest about his last year in his 20's, but it's about how you feel, not the number, right? (That's what I have to keep telling myself after I went through my quarter-century crises)

This week has been a really busy week. We've been watching our friend's dog, Kuma. He is such a sweet dog. If we ever get one (decades) down the road I would love a Golden Retriever. Him and Miles have become great friends. He sure can't pretend the cat is a horse. Sadly, we have to give him back to his owner's today.

We've also been recovering from our cruise and I'm getting ready for our trip to the States. It's right around the corner! Man, I'm just dreading that 11 hour flight to Atlanta. How in the WORLD am I going to keep my 20 month old entertained in a car seat for that long? If any of you have ever done an international flight like that with a toddler then I am all ears! I just found out I have to pick up all my luggage in between Atlanta and Memphis. Man, why did I decided to do this without Brad? I think I was nuts! But, I just keep telling myself it's going to be one really bad day--then a month of fun.
We're thinking about doing a short trip to either Switzerland or Czech Republic next weekend. Both countries border Germany and are a short drive away. Brad happens to have a long weekend and we are all about taking advantage! Hopefully it will work out!
I guess that's about it for now!
